Welcome to the BHS forum.
We welcome any memories of Byfleet life, or snippets of history related to Byfleet (by which we mean the ancient Parish covering Byfleet, West Byfleet and the nearby boundaries)
I remember your sister and your mother as very kind people. Teachers used to send me across the road to get their lunch - Mr Ashby in particular!!One of my brothers is on the front row of the photo with Mr Hodgson and Mr Ely. I also have the newspaper report with Mr Gould and gardeners, among boxes of my mother's photos and appear on the photo. Mum told me it was on the wall of Byfleet Day Centre for some time while she was volunteering there. Perhaps you have already located it. For four years I worked Saturdays in Marshall's newsagents and am in touch with Janet. She and I both worked for Lloyds Bank straight from school. I also have happy memories of Byfleet, not always of school. My brothers and I were regulars at the tiny library in the Villsge Hall where also the baby clinic was held. My Brownie pack met in the Methodist Hall and St. Mary's Church Youth Club in the old Church Hall near the Memorial.
